I Can't Be Happy

I have a wife who loves me no matter what.
She has weathered whiskey and worry, stress and struggle.
She believes in me as I have not.
I can't be happy.

I have two magnificent sons.
They are smart.
They laugh, they make me laugh.
Their women are intelligent, independent,
pretty and real.
I can't be happy.

I have friends who are honest and interesting.
A range of personalities. Always there for me.
I would trust any one of them with my life.
I can't be happy.

I have a magical brother.
For him I have endless respect and love.
Positive, funny, accomplished, and searching.
True friend as well as blood.
I can't be happy.

I have a job.
I have a dream.

Upon further review I am, apparently, happy.
